Accuracy and limits
Pulse helps you understand the money you have added. It can still misunderstand a question or work from incomplete information. Here is what to check.
For Pulse Local 0.4.0

Start with the right information
A total is only useful if the transactions behind it are right. Import the period you want to ask about, review the categories, and enter your account balances if you want Pulse to use them.
A balance you enter is a snapshot. It does not give Pulse a history of what was in that account in earlier months.
Check what an answer includes
Check the month, category and account shown above a spending answer. Ask “explain” for more detail, or open Transactions to see the purchases yourself.
An answer can use real figures and still misunderstand your question. If it covers the wrong month or category, change the label or ask again with the full name and period.
Some answers need extra care
Forecasts are estimates. They use the information available. A change in income, an unusual bill or missing history can change the picture.
AI answers can be mistaken. They are labelled when they come from the model. Confident wording does not make them correct.
General explanations may not fit your situation. Many are written with US finances in mind. Rules and products vary by country.
Missing information stays missing. Pulse does not search the internet for live prices, rates or transactions you have not added.
How we check the app
We compare answers with separately calculated results. We test imports, refunds and conversations using different transactions and different ways of asking. We also repeat earlier checks when the app changes.
Those checks cannot cover every question. New questions have revealed mistakes, and we use what we learn to improve the app. A test score does not guarantee that your own answer will be right.
Since version 0.4.0, every money question is read twice, and a figure is shown only when both readings agree. When Pulse shows a figure from your records, it is almost always right; when the readings disagree, it says it is not sure instead of guessing. Read how we test the chat.
When something looks wrong
Start by checking the date range and the transactions included. Your bank statement remains the record of what happened in your account.
Use Send feedback in the app to tell us what you asked and what looked wrong. You can review what is included before sending the email.
